1. Measure the width of the project area (in feet) and multiply it by the length of the project area (in feet).
2. The number that you now have is your square footage or surface area (located at the top of the chart).
3. Pick you desired depth of material (numbers in the far left column), choose the square footage column that applies (at top) and follow the column down until it intersects with depth of materials number from the left, this will be the number of "yards" needed for your project!
